THE NOSE:
Rich and sweet right away. I get raisins, grape, and sugar up front.
There’s also some leather in there and a bit of that peanut-buttery note that reminds me of a Butterfinger candy bar.
It’s a fun mix and definitely pulls you in for a sip.
THE TASTE:
The palate is very sweet and syrupy. A lot of the darker flavors I love show up—caramel, chocolate, and butterscotch.
It’s a great flavor profile, but the main problem is that it disappears way too quickly.
On some sips I also get a bit of grape and other fruity notes that pop in and out.
THE FINISH:
This is where it redeems itself.
Even though the palate fades fast, the finish brings things back with a nice caramel sweetness that hangs around longer than expected.
BUY OR PASS?
Overall, this is a solid pour. This particular bottle (Batch 114) is a pick from the ADHD Whiskey YouTube channel (12 Summers), which is pretty cool. My only real complaint is how fast the palate fades.
It’s like a really great flavor shows up and then suddenly vanishes. Thankfully the finish brings back some of that sweetness and helps round things out.
