THE NOSE:
Right from the start, the port finish shows up in the best way.

It’s fruity and sweet — think grape or raspberry jam. There’s also something warm and comforting about it, like apple butter on a fresh biscuit.

It’s rich, but not over the top.

THE TASTE:
This one drinks just like it smells — jammy and full of flavor.

You get that classic rye spice, but it’s smoothed out nicely by the port finish.

The fruitiness and spice work really well together. It’s a pour that just feels balanced and easy to enjoy.

THE FINISH:
The rye notes stick around, and a little bit of grape jelly lingers at the end — which I absolutely love.

It’s not super long, but it fades in a really pleasant way.

BUY OR PASS?
This is from back when they were still using MGP rye, and honestly, it shows. This bottle is way better than the more recent batches I’ve tried.

If you ever come across one of the older Acts, especially something like Act 7, grab it without hesitation. The newer stuff? Might want to pass at the $150 (And climbing) MSRP.
