THE NOSE:
This one is all about chocolate. Specifically, it smells just like a Tootsie Roll. It’s very one-note, but honestly it’s a really good note.

I might also pick up a little walnut in the background, but the chocolate is definitely the star.

THE TASTE:
It feels sweet and full in the mouth. It’s not overly complex, but it tastes really good.

The flavors lean into the darker side—chocolate and caramel mostly—and that Tootsie Roll note comes through strong again.

Just like the nose, it sticks to that one main flavor, but since it’s a flavor I love, I’m not complaining.

THE FINISH:
The finish follows the same path. Tootsie Roll leads the way again, and it hangs around nicely.

Just like the rest of the sip, it’s simple, but enjoyable.

BUY OR PASS?
Overall, I really like this pour. It’s not the most complex bourbon out there, but if you enjoy a rich chocolate note, this one delivers it from start to finish. This particular bottle is a pick from the Mash & Drum YouTube channel, which makes it even more fun.

I will say that during the tasting a few people mentioned getting strong grassy or even metallic notes. I didn’t get those myself, but enough people did that it’s worth pointing out.
