The Barrel Bros’ Review
The nose on this bottle of Weller CYPB is fantastic. You’re immediately hit with a "campfire s’more" vibe: a massive hit of toasted marshmallow, vanilla, honey, and caramel. Alongside that toasted sweetness is a secondary note of fruit, including cherry pie, grape jelly, and a scoop of vanilla custard. It is an incredibly inviting profile that you could easily sit and enjoy all night.
On the palate, the mouthfeel is silky with a nice oily weight to it. The flavors from the nose translate well, though they feel slightly more muted. You get a great combination of caramel, toffee, and chocolate—reminiscent of a Tootsie Roll—with a surprising hint of blueberry and light oak. It actually drinks like a lower-proof mix between Lux Row 12-year and Michter’s Toasted Rye because of that heavy toasted marshmallow flavors. While it lacks the "deep" complexity some might expect from a massive special occasion bottle, the flavors themselves are top-tier.
The finish is on the lighter side, but it lingers just long enough to be appreciated. The sweetness from the caramel hangs around, and you continued to get that blueberry fruit flavor, which made it very easy to go back for another sip.
The Weller Craft Your Perfect Bourbon is the real deal, though it is worth noting that it actually shines better when enjoyed on its own rather than in a "Weller Rainbow" flight. It doesn't necessarily drink like it's from the traditional Weller mash bill, so those looking for that specific profile might be surprised, but for anyone who loves a rich, sweet, and fruity pour, this is a winner.
If you happen to find this at MSRP, do not hesitate—grab it. While you aren't likely to find this on sale given its popularity, it is an absolute must-buy at retail price.

Individual Reviews
The Rye Guy Says
Score: 7.5/10
Value: 3.5/5
THE NOSE:
Just a fantastic blast of fruity sweetness. Cherry pie, grape jelly, and a scoop of vanilla custard.
Fairly single note on the nose, but it is very enjoyable!
THE TASTE:
The mouthfeel has a light oil weight to it, and is very silky. I get that tootsie roll sweetness and even a bit of chocolate.
Surprisingly, I hardly get any of the fruitiness from the nose, just a little bit of blueberry.
There is also a small, enjoyable, amount of light oak present here as well.
THE FINISH:
There is a finish, but it’s very light.
I did enjoy the profile, for me I was continuing to get that blueberry fruit flavor.
Made it very easy to go back for more.
BUY OR PASS?
I really enjoyed this pour. Rich, sweet, and fruity is my profile. This drank way better under review than it did during our “Weller” flight tasting the previous week.
I’m not a huge fan of the traditional Weller profile and I feel like this bottle didn't drink like it was from the same mash bill. So, for anyone searching for that they may be disappointed.
The Hunter Says
Score: 8/10
Value: 4.5/5
THE NOSE:
This is honestly very good. Right away, it smells like a campfire s’more.
You get a massive hit of toasted marshmallow that’s so realistic I’d almost guess this was a "toasted" finished bourbon if I were tasting it blind.
It’s loaded with vanilla, honey, and caramel—the kind of nose you could just sit and sniff all night.
THE TASTE:
Thankfully, all those great smells show up on the palate too, though they’re a little more muted.
You’re getting caramel, marshmallow, toffee, and chocolate. It’s a fantastic combo. It actually reminds me of a lower-proof mix between Lux Row 12-year and Michter’s Toasted Rye because of that heavy caramel and toasted marshmallow vibe.
The only tiny knock is that it lacks that "deep" complexity you’d want for a massive special occasion bottle, but the flavors themselves are top-tier.
THE FINISH:
The sweetness from the caramel sticks around for a little while.
It’s not the longest finish in the world, but it hangs out just long enough for you to really appreciate it.
BUY OR PASS?
This bottle is the real deal. Interestingly, when we did the whole "Weller Rainbow" flight, this one actually didn't shine as much—it’s way better when you enjoy it on its own.
I’d love to see these exact flavors and proof with a higher age statement to give it that extra "oomph," but even as it stands, it’s a winner. If you can find this anywhere near retail price, don't even hesitate—grab it.
